News from Vermont's Most Beautiful Address

Natural Beautification Springs Forward in Woodstock

The tulips have popped, the ground is green, and our staff has prepared amazing things to see, do and of course, eat! The Village of Woodstock does not need much to enhance its beauty. Over and over, the first time anyone ventures into town, they always tell us how picturesque Woodstock is. It truly is one of America’s prettiest small towns, and why we like to say we are Vermont’s Most Beautiful Address.

So, how do we match the beauty with what we provide? With so many great activities and events programmed for an exceptional travel experience, once you encounter the Kelly Way Gardens and Red Barns events, our new downhill bike park, Chef Rhys Lewis’s spring and summer cuisine, a hike up to Mt. Tom, and maybe Falconry or Orvis Fly Fishing, you will know how the resort makes this village so vibrant.

Golf Season Begins in May

Finally, after a long winter’s rest, our Golf course is revealing its greenery and is ready to host golfers from near and far. Director of Golf, Matt Closter and the friendliest staff in New England are already hard at work planning for an exciting 2018 season that will include new playing and instructional opportunities for all of our guests. Our Superintendent and his team have begun their spring cleanup efforts and are ecstatic with how well the course weathered another snowy winter. Off-season course maintenance has included additional tree work to improve growth and playability and our team is ready to roll out a beautifully manicured playing surface for the 2018 season. Golf Advisor has recently ranked our course as #7 in the U.S for course conditions!

Matt has also announced the appointment of Corey Armstrong as our new Assistant Golf Professional. Corey will join our staff in mid-May from the Jupiter Island Club in Florida. Corey brings a wealth of experience to Woodstock and will be focused on guest service, junior golf and instructional programming.

Stay and play this season with our Unlimited Golf Package.

Executive Chef Rhys Lewis wants to share, teach, and entertain…

A plethora of talent lies in our culinary program and Chef Rhys's skill set is abundant. With the launch of the Red Barns at Kelly Way Gardens, Rhys has implemented a vision he had from day one to make the barns at our gardens into a demonstration kitchen where you can watch, cook and taste. What does that mean? He is ready to show off! Not show off just his own talents, but those of his topnotch staff who have provided culinary delights to all of us for years. In addition, the Red Rooster Restaurant and the Richardson’s Tavern seasonal menus are on display, and Chef Rhys wants to make sure our growing effort to provide natural organic dishes is pure. On top of that, our bartending staff has some long time history at the Inn, and their innovative spirit allows for some very tasty signature cocktails. Taste testing could be a must as well.

Wellness and the Great Outdoors

We pride our resort on having a culture of wellness for our guest and employees alike. The Woodstock Athletic Club has so much programming indoors and out. This winter, it was a great place for guests to detox from everyday life. So many enjoyed our indoor cycling, Pilates, Yoga, and Gym Fit classes, while families added the indoor pool to the agenda after a day of skiing. Now we start to see more outdoor activity as spring goes into full bloom. Our tennis pro has prepped the outdoor courts for the season (we have 8 of them) and some classes will move outdoors to take in Vermont’s amazing fresh air, hiking becomes a ritual, and our Mountain Biking program with a diverse trail system on Mt. Peg can be great fun for anyone. As you start getting more active, our Lead Personal Trainer, Carly Pizzani has put together a brief video to get you started.
