Woodstock VT Film Series: Seeds
January 31 & February 1 | 3 PM
Filmed in black and white, Seeds is a lyrical portrait of Black generational farmers in the American South, interweaving the stories of three families, as they work to preserve land, legacy, and identity. Through daily farm life scenes of cotton harvesting, chasing cows, and mending broken machinery, the film honors a deep connection to heritage and place while acknowledging a sobering truth: only a small fraction of the 16 million acres once owned by Black farmers remains today. In moments of warmth and resilience, this film reveals the enduring strength of memory, legacy, and hope.
