Spring Covered Bridge
Discover Spring in Vermont

Refreshing Adventures

Up in the trees, you can see bright buds of new leaves beginning to show while songbirds cheerfully tell us that spring has indeed arrived in Woodstock, Vermont. Underfoot the snow has melted while the first flowers of the season reach up to the sun. It’s the time of year when the warm air invites you outside to explore! A bike ride through the village, a stroll across the covered bridge, or a relaxing day in the sun’s rays all feel refreshing after a Vermont winter. We invite you to soak up all that we love during springtime at Vermont’s most beautiful address.

Vermont Trout fishing

Falcons & Fish

Birds of prey and wild trout seem like two things that shouldn’t be paired up. After all, one is the predator, and one is the prey. But this time of year in Woodstock, they go together as two of our most exciting outdoor activities! New England Falconry is open for hands-on experiences with hawks and owls. Learn all about raptors from the experts while getting to handle trained birds of prey in an introductory or extended session.
Ready to cast a line? Our Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing program is booking trips where you’ll cast into clear waters in hopes of a bite. Whatever your skill level, our professional guides will teach you the basics or take you to their favorite hidden spots to fish for trout. The great outdoors of Vermont comes alive in the spring and with these two experiences you’ll encounter wildlife in a whole new way, led by our knowledgeable staff.

More Than A Gym

Our resort offers more than your usual hotel fitness room. Much more! Complimentary access to our entire Woodstock Athletic Club includes everything you want in a gym, yoga studio, natatorium, spin studio, and world-class tennis club – all in one.  Plus, weekly classes (easy sign-up on Mindbody), personal training sessions, and outdoor trails with workout stations on our fitness loop! Here are some of our favorite ways the Woodstock Athletic Club shows it’s so much more than just a gym.

  • You’ll need to bring a few workout outfits! Think tennis skirt, swimsuit, cycling shorts, yoga pants, and outdoor running shoes.
  • It’s not only tennis lessons and round-robin play, our USPTA certified pro, Toby Niles, offers clinics as well. Junior Tennis registration for the summer is now open!
  • Our friendly staff welcomes you in and is quick to show you around every studio and space we offer. You can even sign up for a quick training session to learn how to use each machine.

Putting Practice

It’s time to clean up your clubs and get back into the swing of things! Our Woodstock Country Club’s 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Sr. Course is getting prepared for the season – are you? Our PGA Pro, Matt Closter shared this putting tip: "Be sure to keep your head still and not let your eyes wander with the ball once it leaves the putter's face. Remember, it is always better to hear the ball roll into the hole than to see it!"
