Resolutions & Legacy
The New Year has arrived and with it comes goals, aspirations, and plans for the months ahead. In Woodstock, there is so much to look forward to while staying true to our traditions of warm hospitality, meaningful connections, and luxurious accommodations. If wellness is on your mind for the year, we invite you to discover the many ways to prioritize your health while visiting. From pampering at The Spa, fitness and health coaching at the Athletic Club, to wholesome choices on our menus, and the life-changing effects of fresh air and the great outdoors! We have resolutions to make the most of all the things to do in the months ahead. There’s skiing, snowshoeing, and winter fun, then on to an exciting spectacle in the spring (see more below!), followed by an endless summer with sunshine and activities, and of course the annual fall foliage display. There are so many reasons to join us in 2024!
Chef's Cozy Cassoulet
On Thursday, January 18 settle into a plush seat next to the fire in Richardson’s Tavern for a 3-course meal featuring the perfect winter entrée – Cassoulet. Executive Chef Matthew McClure has taken inspiration from award-winning writer, Sylvie Bigar’s book “Cassoulet Confessions” to create his own luscious, hearty, and humble cassoulet recipe. The dinner event will highlight this recipe expertly paired with wine and include special guest Sylvie Bigar to talk about why this dish means so much to her. Reserve your seat today!
If you can’t escape to Woodstock for our Cassoulet Dinner, take a look at Chef’s Cassoulet Recipe and create your own cozy evening at home.
Make it a foodie-filled weekend and join us at Billings Farm’s Snowdance Soiree! A fundraiser for the Woodstock Film Series, the night includes an elevated chili by Chef McClure, local craft cocktails, and fantastic tunes by local musician Brooks Hubbard.
Winter for the Non-Skier
We love our winter sports in Woodstock, but there’s still a great array of activities for those who aren’t keen on strapping on skis or a snowboard to cruise the slopes.
- Visit the farm animals, taste cheddar cheese, and learn about agriculture at Billings Farm.
- Make your visit a wellness getaway with a facial or body treatment at The Spa.
- Walk out the Inn’s doors for retail therapy in the boutiques and shops in the Woodstock Village. High-quality clothing, home goods, artwork, and more!
- Keep the après vibes flowing all day with crafted cocktails at the local bars and restaurants.
- Work up a sweat with tennis or a fitness class or dive into the indoor pool at the Woodstock Athletic Club.
- The whole family will love local attractions like VINS, Artistree, the Montshire Museum, and ice skating at Union Arena.
Total Solar Eclipse in Vermont
On April 8 we will be treated to a rare and exciting celestial spectacle: a total solar eclipse! Vermont is in the path of totality when the sun, moon, and earth all align, and we are excited to celebrate the phenomenon. We have a weekend of space-themed events on the schedule and a Total Eclipse Tea Party planned with special snacks, drinks, and plenty of eclipse glasses on hand to witness the sky go dark. This special event is sure to bring many crowds to our area, so book your Total Solar Eclipse Weekend before the sky goes dark!
