Art on the Barns: Artist Reception

Set against the backdrop of a working dairy farm in full summer swing, Art on the Barns is a bold, large-scale outdoor exhibition that breaks free from traditional gallery walls. Contemporary abstract works by Elise Whittemore and Will Gebhard, in collaboration with Soapbox Arts in Burlington, Vermont, engage in a dynamic dialogue with the past and present across the farm’s historic barns and buildings. As visitors explore the site, they’ll encounter striking works of art tucked into unexpected corners, where color, form, and texture interact with the weathered wood and the daily rhythms of farm life. Each piece is thoughtfully placed to complement the landscape and evolves with the changing light, activity, and seasonal energy of summer on the farm. Whether it’s a first visit or a return trip, Art on the Barns offers a fresh perspective, inviting guests to see both the art and the farmstead in a new light. There will be an artist reception on Thursday, July 10 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM.
