Charm of Quiet
This time of year gently encourages us all to embrace the charm of quiet. The peaceful village streets provide a deep breath compared to the bustling roadways of the city, the wide-open hills give space to contemplate as you see for miles, and the calm of the Inn invites you to be present in the moment. You’ll notice the songbirds as they flutter from limb to limb and welcome the season with their chirps. You’ll reach for a book as you sit in the library and relish the absence of a schedule. You’ll have the opportunity to explore and adventure at your own pace with local hiking trails, workout classes at the Athletic Club, and nearby farms with maple syrup making demonstrations. Join us as spring awakens from the slumber of winter and discover the charm of quiet.

Sweetest Time of Year
The days are warm and the nights are chilly in March, and those are exactly the conditions needed for Vermont’s sweetest time of year: maple sugaring season! Across the region, sap from maple trees freezes overnight and during the day runs into local farmers’ buckets, which is then boiled down to produce the world-renowned Vermont maple syrup. Each gallon of syrup requires nearly forty gallons of sap! Vermont has high standards for our maple syrup, with minimum density requirements and a diligent grading system that includes color and flavor descriptors to help consumers find their favorite type of liquid gold.
It’s a sweet time of year to visit Vermont too! Our Packages celebrate spring adventures, relaxing escapes, and sweet deals on stays during March and April.
