Holidays and Snow Adventures at Vermont's Most Beautiful Address.
When we begin gearing up for Vermont’s peak season, our minds imagine snow blanketing the village, days of exhilarating snow sports on the mountains, and the warmth of the indoor fireplaces and hospitality. From the holidays through March the resort is jumping with snow activity and fireplace envy. Since we boast having the oldest and most relevant ski area in America, we know a thing or two about snow adventures. Perhaps more importantly, we also know a lot about accommodating a warm retreat that offers everything to soothe the soul. As the holidays approach, we are fully prepared to host families from everywhere, and excited to share everything we offer. So, join us this season with the whole family and make memories that will last forever.
Holly-Days and First Night Partay!
Woodstock Village feels just right during the holidays, which is why we love this time of year! The village kicks off the season in a huge way with the world-famous Wassail Weekend, which is just a warm up for the weeks that follow offering a Christmas atmosphere like no other. We look forward to greeting the families who return each year and welcoming the new faces we will host for the first time. We kick off into the New Year by rocking away at our New Year's Eve Gala with music from House on Fire. Woodstock is charming all year, but during the holiday season it truly is magical. From horse-drawn sleigh rides to skiing down hillsides, warming up fireside to having a drink slopeside, the holiday week in Woodstock is altogether extraordinary.
Did you know that we have 19 guestrooms with fireplaces, and almost all are wood-burning? There is nothing like a warm fire to cozy up to after a day of chilly winter air. Our lobby hearth is a guest favorite to sit and socialize while four-foot long burning logs offer a soothing crackle. Our fireplace envy extends far beyond the Inn. At Suicide Six Ski Area, indoors and out you can warm your toes or sit and enjoy a drink slope-side. At the Inn, walk through the doors to the Spa and be greeted with the calming warmth of a Shaker stove. Stop by the Nordic Center’s warming room and the Athletic Club’s lounge after an indoor swim or workout to see more fireplaces. Wait, there is more…our woodburning stove at our Mt. Tom Cabin on a snowshoe hike or tableside in Richardson’s Tavern. And, finally let’s not forget about firing up s’mores at the South Garden firepit. Woodstock winters offer snowy fun days and warm nights.
No Sports like Snow Sports.
Snow sports have grown from classic skiing and sledding into a huge industry. At the Woodstock Inn & Resort we aim to offer all of the snow sports you can imagine so you can try something new, and also have the opportunity to relish the traditional. Speaking of traditional, skiing and riding all day on Suicide Six’s 24 awesome trails will not disappoint, but don’t forget nordic skiing! Our Nordic Center is known as the best in Vermont with perfectly groomed trails and tracks that make it easy to learn, and a blast to ski on. Biking is no longer confined to the summer months. Fast becoming a family favorite, our Fat Tire bikes allow you to explore the Mt. Peg trails in a new way! And of course, we have classic snowshoeing which can take you places you normally wouldn’t go, so grab a box lunch and trek through the National Park to see the untouched winter wonderland of Woodstock’s forests. How about some traditional family fun? Sled down Mt. Tom with the kids or allow our horse-drawn sleighs to glide you through the timeless Billings Farm. And we’re not done yet; there will be new snow sports to come very soon.
