October started in full color this year! The hillsides are lush with vibrant foliage, and the trails and pathways that wind throughout the village and forests are speckled with fallen leaves of yellow, orange, red, and gold. With time for more green trees to join the autumn celebration, October is the perfect time to join us to experience fall views, flavors, scents, activities, and experiences. Take the scenic way and grab a local apple cider, spend an extra day to try a new passion, and slow down to enjoy every moment of this fleeting but extra special season.
A Gala for A Great Cause
On Sunday, October 25, we are proud to host Change The Word Kids’ 24th Annual Para la Tierra Fundraising Gala once again! The local nonprofit organization is run by middle- and high school-aged students who volunteer in their communities and beyond. Their main focuses are humanitarian and sustainability initiatives, with an annual work trip to Costa Rica to aid in the preservation of rainforest ecosystems.
The Para la Tierra “for the earth” Gala is their largest fundraising event of the year! Chef Matthew McClure will prepare 3 courses of fall flavors, using locally sourced meats, produce, and ingredients, some of which even come from Change The World Kids’ own garden. The student volunteers help in each step – planning, set-up, plating, service, and clean-up, alongside our resort banquet and culinary teams. Join us for an evening of fundraising, with cocktail hour, Chef’s 3-course meal with poured wine service, and a presentation from the students, followed by a live auction!
